INFOFISH AFFIRMS CONTINUED SUPPORT ON BLUE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

INFOFISH Acting Director Ms Gemma Meermans Matainaho when closing the 2 days Pacific Tuna Forum yesterday at the Sofitel Resort & Spa in Fiji, says lessons learnt and experiences from the forum will inspire Pacific nations to strive forward in reaching the regions vision and strategy for the Tuna Industry.


She says the Hubs and Spokes strategy such as the East New Britain Initiative or ENBi.


Ms Matainaho also says the forum has bear witness to the Pacific Tuna repositioning and consolidation as a global leader, an exemplar of a resilient, innovative and equitable tuna industry that serves both the present and future generations of the Blue Pacific Region.

“The insights and partnership forged in the 2025 PTF will guide and continue to grow the growth and transformation of the Pacific Tuna Fisheries in the Tuna Industry,” she says.

She further adds that the outcomes of the forum serve as meaningful wayforward towards a resilient, innovative and equitable Pacific tuna industry that sustains all people and strengthens the shared prosperity of the Tuna Pacific Continent.


She also concluded in applauding the moderators to the PTF 2025 participants and affirmed INFOFISH continued support members countries and partners and stakeholders through the work of INFOFISH to in pursuing sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, blue economic development and also to the delegates and the host country Fiji for hosting the 2025 Pacific Tuna Forum.
