POLIO IMMUNIZATION CONTINUES IN WESTERN HIGHLANDS PROVINCE

POLIO Immunization in Western Highlands Province, pushed by World Health Organization continues to be carried out under the supervision of Western Highlands Provincial Health Authority.

This newsroom came across an immunisation team yesterday in Ward Seven of Mt Hagen Urban LLG, and Gabriel Graham, the Provincial Call Chain and Logistics Officer extended the call to parents of children aged 10 and below to get them immunized.

Mr Graham emphasised the importance of kids getting vaccinated, as polio does not have any cure and may cause death.

He stressed that, children must be vaccinated to help their body fight against all kinds of diseases including polio.

The Polio team in Western Highlands Province distributed pamphlets and conducting awareness due to the fact that many children are yet to be immunized in many areas.
