OK TEDI DONATES K1.25M TO RELIEF EFFORTS

Ok Tedi Mining Limited has donated a total of K1.25 million to assist disaster relief efforts in Milne Bay Province following the impact of Tropical Cyclone Maila.
Ok Tedi Managing Director and CEO Kedi Ilimbit says the company stands with affected communities during times of crisis.
He emphasized that Ok Tedi is a company built by Papua New Guineans for Papua New Guineans and they stand with people especially in times of hardship and their support is about restoring hope and helping rebuild lives.”
Meanwhile Acting Milne Bay Provincial Administrator Sharon Mua thanked Ok Tedi for the timely support towards the relief and recovery efforts for communities affected by the cyclone.
From the support K1 million will go to the Milne Bay Provincial Disaster Committee, while K250,000 is allocated for relief support in the Samarai-Murua district.
She said the funds will be directed to urgent priorities identified in their initial damage assessment like shelter kits, medical kits, clean water, food security and restoration of basic services
