POMGEN WORKS WITH DPM TO SECURE PERMANENT POSITIONS FOR NURSES

PORT Moresby General Hospital (PMGH) Chief Executive Officer Dr Paki Molumi, has announced that the hospital is working closely with the Department of Personnel Management (DPM) to transition nurses into permanent public service positions under the Alesco payroll system.
Dr. Molumi confirmed that the Government has allocated adequate Personnel Emoluments funding in the 2026 budget to support this initiative. As part of the process, the affected 39 nurses currently employed on short-term contracts (STC) will be absorbed into the Alesco system.
PMGH is collaborating with DPM to ensure all compliance requirements are met and that the transition process is fast-tracked.
Dr Molumi said the hospital is seriously looking into this matter and is working closely with DPM to ensure these nurses are transitioned into permanent employment positions under the public service payroll system.
