BY RAYLEEN WANJIMAN
THE National Capital District Commission has reappointed City Manager Ravu Frank for a second four-year term following a unanimous decision by the NCDC Board.
NCD Governor Powes Parkop announced the reappointment today during a contract signing ceremony attended by board commissioners, senior management and members of the media in Port Moresby.
Governor Parkop said Mr Frank’s initial term began in 2022 and concluded on May 8 this year.
Governor Parkop said the decision demonstrates the Board’s confidence in Mr Frank’s leadership and his contribution to the administration and development of the nation’s capital since he Joined in 2001.
He added that the move also aligns with recent reforms aimed at strengthening continuity and performance within public institutions.
He said the review and reappointment process commenced and involved consultations with the Department of Personnel Management and the Ministry for Provincial and Local Level Government Affairs.
The Governor described the reappointment as a significant milestone, noting that it reflects a shift from the traditional practice of re advertising senior public service positions at the end of a contract term.
Instead, strong performance and leadership can now be recognised through reappointment so there is more standardized work.
Meanwhile Mr Ravu Frank Thanked everyone that worked with him and contributed to his journey and the Commission for having confidence in him to lead the Commission for another term.
