THOUSANDS JOINED TRUKAI FUN RUN TO SUPPORT TEAM PNG 2026 COMMONWEALTH GAMES IN GLASGOW

CROWD gathered at Sir Hubert Murray Stadium in the National Capital District from as early as 4 a.m. yesterday for the 2026 Trukai Fun Run, an initiative to raise funds to support of Team PNG’s campaign for this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The annual Trukai Fun Run hosted yesterday saw participants started the run from Sir Hubert Murray Stadium, along the PNG Naval Base, Port Moresby Cargo Port, Paga Hill Ring Road and around APEC Haus before returning to the stadium to finish the fun day.
Families, children, infants, dog owners and their pets took part in the event with kids topping of the fun day bouncing off at the bouncy castle.
The members of the Papua New Guinea Defence Force, including the Guard Dog Unit, along with St John Ambulance and the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary, provided security and medical support during the event.
National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop thanked Trukai Industries, corporate sponsors and the people of Port Moresby for making the fundraiser a success and for backing Team PNG.
Governor Parkop also participated in the Fun Run and wished Team PNG a success at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Meanwhile similar Trukai Fun Run events were held simultaneously in 7 other locations in Goroka, Kokopo, Lae, Madang, Mt Hagen, Alotau, Kundiawa.
