CONSTANTINOU GROUP SUPPORTS HIRI MOALE FESTIVAL MARKING 3RD YEAR AS GOLD SPONSOR

THE Constantinou Group of Companies presented a K100,000 cheque to support the 2026 Hiri Moale Festival earlier this week at the Airways Hotel in Port Moresby.
The cheque was presented by Constantinou Group of Companies Chairman George Constantinou to Motu Koita Assembly Chairman Russell Simon Wavik. The support marks the company’s third consecutive year as a Gold Sponsor of the festival.
Mr Constantinou said the Hiri Moale Festival is one of Papua New Guinea’s most significant cultural celebrations, showcasing the strength, spirit and identity of the Motu Koitabu people.
He said the company is proud to help preserve the culture and traditions for future generations.
The Hiri Moale Festival, first held in 1972, is an annual celebration of the historic Hiri trading voyages between the Motu Koitabu people and the Gulf Province.
Receiving the support, Motu Koita Assembly Chairman Russell Simon Wavik thanked the Constantinou Group for its continued support and described the sponsorship as an investment in preserving the Motu Koitabu people’s cultural heritage for future generations.
Mr Wavik assured sponsors that the funding would be managed with transparency, accountability and mutual respect as preparations continue for this year’s festival in September
The festival honours the traditional lakatoi voyages and showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Motu Koitabu through canoe displays, traditional dances, songs and cultural performances.
