TEACHING Service Commission (TSC) Chairman Maini Mike Ugaia, on behalf of the Commission’s management, staff and approximately 80,000 teachers nationwide, today congratulated and welcomed the new Minister for Education, Francis Kikin, as he assumed office at the Ministry of Education.

Chairman Ugaia said Minister Siune’s appointment comes at a significant time for the education sector as the Government continues to pursue reforms aimed at strengthening education services and improving the welfare and management of teachers across the country.

He told the incoming minister that the Department of Education, the Teaching Service Commission, and the National Library and Archives all work together towards one common purpose—to deliver quality education and preserve the nation’s knowledge for future generations.

Chairman Ugaia said that while each institution has its own constitutional mandate and responsibilities, all play an equally important role in achieving the Government’s vision for education and national development
