“WE ARE ONE” FOUNDATION CHARITY COLOUR RUN RAISES FOR PORT MORESBY HOSPITALS

BY LETHISA KOLOKOL

FUNDS raised from the Port Moresby leg of the 2026 Islands Petroleum Colour Run, held yesterday, will be used to purchase vital medical equipment for the 6-Mile Polyclinic and Gerehu General Hospital.

Speaking before the event’s opening at Sir Hubert Murray Stadium, We Are One Foundation Director Kavitha Suppan Bluett thanked city residents for turning out in large numbers to support the worthy cause.

She told participants that by taking part in the colour run, they were making a bold statement of hope, unity, and community spirit.

Suppan Bluett noted that she had witnessed this same inspiring message during recent events in Lae, Madang, Kokopo, and Alotau. Yesterday, Port Moresby joined a growing movement of people who believe that service, kindness, and unity can transform communities.

The initiative will directly improve patient care and local healthcare capacity at Gerehu General Hospital and 6-Mile Polyclinic by equipping medical staff with the essential diagnostic and treatment tools.
