KBC RECEIVES NEW SCHOOL TRUCK; THANKS TO GOVERNOR MARUM

EAST New Britain provincial government will continue supporting education and investing in young people as the future of East New Britain and Papua New Guinea.

These were the affirmative remarks by the East New Britain Governor Michael Marum when presenting the new Isuzu Truck to the Kokopo Business College (KBC) to support the institution’s daily operation and students’ programs.

Governor Marum acknowledged KBC as an important national institution, hosting students from across Papua New Guinea who come to study and also contribute to the Kokopo and East New Britain economy through accommodation, transport, food and other local services.

Marum challenged the students to prioritise their education, control their behaviour and avoid distractions such as alcohol, drugs and violence.

He also used the opportunity and paid respect to the families of those still missing following the Kokopo boat tragedy two weeks ago, acknowledging their pain and uncertainty.

He also thanked the many individuals and organisations from East New Britain and New Ireland who assisted with the search, rescue and recovery efforts, including police, disaster teams, boat operators, aviation personnel and local communities.
