G-FORCE REMAINS AS NATIONAL DANCE CHAMPIONS

G-FORCE has retained its title as champions of the Mountain Dew x Wan Squad-PNG National Dance Championships 2026 Championship, taking out first place in the Open Division at the competition held yesterday at the Hilton Hotel in Port Moresby.

A total of 13 teams took part in the competition, with families and friends turning up to support the young dancers as they showcased their talent and creativity.

G-Force claimed the top prize of K12,000, while Bounce unit finished second with K8,000 and The Resistance took third place with K4,000.

In the Junior Division, JPC took first place and walked away with K4,000, followed by the Strikers in second place with K2,000, while Vikings finished third with K1,000.

Mountain Dew Director Ashton Chue says the competition continues to grow bigger and better each year, with the standard of performances becoming increasingly professional.

This year, Mountain Dew also brought judges from Australia to assess the competition and help expose local dancers to international standards.

Chue says international dance crews were also brought in to add excitement and provide opportunities for local dancers to learn from experienced performers.

Chue says Mountain Dew and Pacific Industries strongly support the initiative because dance provides young people with a positive platform to develop discipline, dedication, teamwork and perseverance.

He says WAN Squad, as two-time world champions, are an example of what young people can achieve through hard work, commitment and a healthy lifestyle.
