SCHOOLS IN WABAG DISTRICT CLOSE TERM 3 WITH PRE-INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATIONS

KAKI Secondary School, just located within the vicinity of Wabag Town, officially concluded Term Three (3) of the National Education Calendar with a colourful pre-Independence celebration, bringing together students, parents, teachers, stakeholders and members of the school community.

Principal Mrs Florence Kangun highlighted that the program provided an opportunity for the school community to celebrate Papua New Guinea’s 51st Independence anniversary while reflecting on the achievements and activities of students throughout the term.

She mentioned that the highlight of the celebration was the presentation of various club activities, showcasing the talents, creativity and knowledge of students.

“Students participated in cultural, science and debate activities, demonstrating their skills and confidence before the school community,” she said.

Mrs Kangun said that the celebration also included a number of fun and entertaining games, which created an exciting atmosphere among students and guests with activities including balloon-blowing competitions, egg games and chair dance, with students actively participating and enjoying the activities.

Following the celebrations, the school proceeded with the issuing of transcripts for Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 marking an important part of the end-of-term programme, allowing students to receive an update on their academic performance.

“The conclusion of Term 3 was made possible through the combined efforts of the school administration, teachers, students, parents and stakeholders,” she said.

Mrs Kangun said that the
Pre-Independence Celebration was not only a time for entertainment, but also an opportunity to promote national pride, cultural identity, student talent, academic achievement and community spirit.

“Kaki Secondary School wishes all students, parents, teachers and stakeholders a safe and enjoyable break as the school community looks forward to the next stage of the academic year,” concluded Mrs Kangun
