NORTH FLY VOLLEYBALL ASSOCIATION BATTLE FOR DONALD CUP

VOLLEYBALL teams from across the North Fly District have gathered in Kiunga for the 2026 North Fly MP James Donald Volleyball Cup, which officially commenced today.

The four-day tournament is being played at the PNG Defence Force Forward Operating Base (FOB) courts and features men’s and women’s teams representing volleyball associations from Kiunga Urban and Kiunga Rural LLGs.

Associations taking part include Dome, Iogi, Grae, Gii, Iowara, Drimdamasuk and the host, Kiunga Urban.

The James Donald Volleyball Cup has been held at different locations in previous years, with Drimdamasuk hosting the most recent tournament.

Kiunga Urban emerged as the previous champions, leading to this year’s competition being hosted in Kiunga.

Competition will continue over the next three days, with the grand finals and presentation ceremony scheduled for Sunday, September 20.
