KAIA WORKS GIVES PROGRESS UPDATE FOR DEI DISTRICT ROADS

KAIA Works Limited, the contractor involved in upgrading three road networks and building two bridges in Dei District of Western Highlands Province, gave it’s progress update to the District Development Authority and media on Thursday.

Godfrey Umba, owner and Managing Director of Kaia works was personally on ground to take Dei DDA CEO Raphael Koldop and members of the DDA board which includes the three local level government presidents to the project sites.

Umba says the tour of the project sites was to have all stakeholders see for themselves the progress so far.

Meanwhile, Patrick Namba, Superintendent of Dei Projects and Senior Roads Engineer for Department of Works and Highways says overally 80% of the contracted projects were complete.

These projects include Balg Kuk road, Ambra Muglamp road, Mogla Kerakori roads along with Namaliu and Moga bridges.

It was also revealed that the roads sealing will be completed in next three weeks time.

In response , the Dei DDA CEO and board members took turns in thanking Kaia Works for a job well done so far, while assuring that funding suppport for the project will be discussed by the DDA board so that the contractor gets fully paid for all its work.

On behalf of the people of Dei, Koldop thanks the contractor for doing impressive work in delivering the projects and reaching near completion before the given deadline.

Kaia Works in return, gave assurance that new state of art machines and up to four crushers were brought in, hence road sealing for all roads would commence at the same time.

For those who have complained about line drainages, it was explained that the road surface has been lifted, meaning no ground water would flow and cover the roads and that road was the priority at this time so that drainage works can even be outsourced to local contractors.
