NTC CONDUCTS SURVEY TO IDENTIFY INFORMAL YOUTH TRADE INTERESTS

The National Training Council (NTC) under the Ministry of Labour is currently hosting a 2 day survey of youths practicing various trades around the streets and suburbs of Port Moresby city.


NTC over time has noted the increasing number of young people in involved in various informal business in the city such as vehicle tinting, motor vehicle repairs and other mechanical trade skills.

Director for NTC, Mr Kinsella Geoffrey says this survey aligns to the National Training Policy 2022-2032 and will help to gather information on youths engaged in these informal activities.


He added that NTC has a lot of scholarship programs such as the Training for Youth, Training for MSMEs, Training for Informal and many more.

The survey will assist the NTC in identity certain youths who can be fitted into these scholarship programs to further boost their knowledge and skills.


The targeted group of the survey is the youths involved in the informal business-related trades and it will run for 2 hours today and tomorrow.
For today the survey both will be at Boroko, 4mile area and Gordons Paradise food area and RH area.
