ENB POLICE LAUNCH FESTIVE OPS

The 2024-2025 Christmas and New Year Police Operation, was officially launched earlier this week at the Kokopo main market.
The initiative aims to combat rising crime rates and ensure public safety during the festive season.
Provincial Police Commander Chief Inspector Felix Nebanat led the launch, and was attended by notable figures including East New Britain Governor Michael Marum, Provincial Administrator Levi Mano, and representatives from local government and the Australian Federal Police.
The operation signifies a proactive approach, with police prepared to respond swiftly to any law-and-order issues that may arise.
Chief Inspector Nebanat emphasized that police will be on high alert throughout the festive season, equipped with the necessary logistics and support.
He expressed gratitude to the East New Britain Provincial Administration and Governor Marum for their continued assistance in maintaining safety and order.
In the meantime, ENB Governor Marum addressed the community, stating that law and order is everyone’s responsibility.
He urged citizens, business owners, and politicians to collaborate with police in identifying and apprehending those who threaten public safety.
As part of festive period operation, police will conduct roadblocks to check for unregistered vehicles and monitor movement in and out of key towns, including Kokopo, Rabaul, Kerevat, and Palmalmal. This initiative aims to deter crime and reassure the public that their safety is a top priority.
