BFPNG ANNOUNCES PLAYERS FOR INTERATIONAL TOURNEY

The Basketball Federation of Papua New Guinea has announced the names of players who will be representing the country in various upcoming tournaments.
For the Pacific Mini Games in Palau in June 2025 and the Asia Cup in Singapore in March, the 3×3 U23 men’s team will consist of PNG reps Reginald Lelenge, Alan Millard, and Morea Elavo Jnr.
The women’s team will feature Shanelda Asap Parangkei and Shantel Mope with the head coach and Team Manager for the U23 teams will be announced by the PNG Olympic Committee at a later date.
In the 3×3 open category, Ryan Tetemo and Betty Angula will represent PNG in the men’s and women’s divisions respectively.
The open men’s team will be coached by Nick Daroa with Ronnie Pomat as the Team Manager.
In the meantime, Preparations for the 5×5 basketball are underway for the Melanesia Cup in October 2025, with players divided into East and West teams.
The East team consists of players selected from the National All-Star Championship in Goroka, while the West team is made up of players from Port Moresby.
Trials will be held in Port Moresby to finalize the roster for the Melanesia Cup.
Basketball Federation of PNG President David Peter stated that they are committed to selecting the best players from both teams to ensure a strong representation at the upcoming tournament.
