THE general public has been urged to provide bail receipts to the Court registry or to the Court, as a way of evidence to avoid re-arrest or inconvenience.

This was the call made by Waigani Committal Court magistrate Cathleen Sopa also cautioning police prosecutors and concerned parties/individuals to do their part to ensure they have every necessary document before appearing at the Courts.

Magistrate Sopa warned Pricilla Andia of Southern Highlands province, who was charged for allegedly publishing Defamatory Materials on her personal Facebook account to another person (name withheld) and police prosecutor Sandra Holland for failing to provide the bail receipt to the court this morning during the hearing.

Magistrate Sopa told Ms Andia to provide her bail receipt, which she was arrested on 5th January 2025, in the next hearing, set for February 25th 2025.
