HONOR 400 LAUNCHED IN PNG AS “NAMABAWAN AI PHONE”

TECHNOLOGY brand Honor officially launched its latest smartphones in Papua New Guinea yesterday — the Honor 400 Standard and Pro Versions, branding them the “Namabawan AI Phone” for the local market.
The launch event, held at Range View Plaza in Port Moresby, featured live entertainment, giveaways, and product showcases, drawing in a large crowd of tech fans, content creators, and everyday users.
Honor Product Manager and Operations Director Hyson Lin said the new phone is tailored for Papua New Guineans who love taking photos and videos but may not be familiar with editing apps.
“The Honor 400 simplifies the process by using built-in Artificial Intelligence to automatically edit and enhance content.
Mr. Lin added, “For the whole month of June, anyone who buys the Honor 400 Standard Version will receive a complimentary Honor Boombox, and those who choose the Pro Version will get not only a Boombox but also a pair of Honor Earpods — a perfect bundle to enjoy the full Honor experience. We also aim to introduce more high-capability phones like this into the PNG market — devices that previously were hard to afford in other mobile phone brands.”
The Honor 400 Standard and Pro Versions are now on display and available for sale at Honor’s flagship shop at Range View Plaza in Port Moresby.
Content creators can now work faster and more efficiently without needing additional software — it’s all in the phone,” Lin said
As part of the event, popular local influencers Kabbage Gang and Dagia Akia performed a live demonstration of the phone’s AI-powered features, showing how the Honor 400 can automatically enhance photos and videos with a single tap.
Their presentation highlighted the phone’s appeal to vloggers, social media users, and mobile gamers.
Kabbage Gang praised the phone not only for its editing features but also for its performance and value.
“This phone is perfect for people like me. The AI makes editing super easy — I don’t need to open any other app to clean up or improve my videos. It’s also great for gaming, and the best part is the price. You’re basically getting the power of an expensive phone in a much more affordable one,” he said.
