RPNGC KICKSTARTS CELEBRATIONS LEADUP TO 50TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY

IN preparations for the country’s 50th Anniversary Celebrations, the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary in Port Moresby held the Opening Parade and Capability Display at Ela Beach today, kickstarting five days of Celebrations which commenced on Saturday 19th July with the arrival of Pacific Police Band and will continue till Wednesday 23rd July.

The Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary is one of the longest serving organization in PNG dating back to the 19th Century when colonial administrations established separate police forces for Papua New Guinea., which later merged to what is now called the RPNGC in 1975.

Tomorrow, Monday 21st, as part of the planned events, will be the National/Provincial Parade day and Chief dialogue at the Hilton Hotel, followed by Pacific Police Tattoo at Sir Hubert Murray Stadium on Tuesday 22nd

RPNGC will play host the Pacific Police Tattooo hosting a Police Band Parade and musical concert.

 This extravagant musical concert and parade will feature nine police bands from across the Pacific. Called the Pacific Police Tattoo, this event will feature Police Bands from Fiji, Solomon Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, Kiribat, Samoa, Tonga and Tuvalu.

Police Commissioner David Manning has extend an invitation to residents of NCD to attend the Opening Day Parade at Ela Beach today Sunday 20th July and the Pacific Police Tattoo, musical concert at the Sir Hubert Murray Stadium.
