COCA Cola Euro Pacific PNG is proud to celebrate the first shipment of P.E.T plastic bottles out of Lae, Morobe Province as part of its long-term commitment to the sustainability of our packaging.

This achievement was made possible through the P.E.T Collection Campaign, led by CCEP in collaboration with Branis Recycling PNG with support from Coca-Cola ASEAN South Pacific.

In May of this year the collection campaign expanded from Port Moresby into Lae. This now enables Branis Recycling to collect, process the beverage bottles into flakes and export from Lae.

Sales & Commercial Director for CCEP PNG, Tim Solly said addressing plastic waste and recycling challenges requires collaboration between industry, the public sector and civil society. β€œWe are excited to have shipped our first container out of Lae and would like to remind residents to help keep our city clean by returning their plastic bottles for recycling.”

Lae residents can collect any P.E.T plastic beverage bottle and deliver to the Branis collection site at Karimata street or at Limki street, Speedway. For every 1 kilo collected, they will be paid K1.00.

CCEP PNG looks forward to working with different groups in Papua New Guinea to significantly increase the amount of P.E.T plastic beverage bottles collected in Lae and Port Moresby.
