PNG CHIEFS OPENED FIRST OFFICE IN PNG

IN another major step towards entering the Australia’s National Rugby League Competition in 2028, the PNG Chiefs have formally opened a basic operations office in Port Moresby, that will enable them do necessary preparations, leading up to the preseason on the 1st of November and entering the competition in the following year.


The new and inaugural office of the Chiefs is now located at the National Football Stadium in Port Moresby and was officially opened for use today (Tuesday, 17th of February) by Chiefs Chairlady Catherine Harris.


Chiefs Chairlady Harris was accompanied by PNG Chiefs Chief Executive Officer Lorna McPherson, Chiefs General Manager Michael Chammas, Prime Minister James Marape, NCD governor Powes Parkop and Moresby South MP Justin Tkatchenko.


Australian businesswoman, who is now at the helm of the new club, Ms Harris said, she is excited to be part of the new club and will work with the executive management and the board to ensure the team is ready
