OVER HUNDRED APPRENTICES INDUCTED INTO PNG POWER

PNG Power Ltd has inducted 101 Apprentice to join second batch of an apprenticeship intake for 2026 at PNG Power training college yesterday in Port Moresby, restarting its apprenticeship program after a six-year gap.

The event was attended by CEO of PNG Power Paul Bayly, National Apprenticeship and Trade Testing Board Director Brian Clowes, Kumul Consolidated Holdings Managing Director -Professor David Kavanamur, Members of the PNG Power Board and other distinguish gust.

This 4 year program aims to reinforce the organisations commitment to rebuilding the country’s technical workforce and securing the Papua New Guinea’s long-term energy future.

Speaking at Induction Ceremony, Kumul Consolidated Holdings Managing Director-Professor David Kavanamur congratulated the graduates stating they have earnt their place in this program.

He added that their four years of structured training, field rotation and professional development begins with power system where they will help supports businesses, hospitals, schools and families across Papua New Guinea.

Chief Executive officer Paul Bayly says this training program is a strategic investment in the people who will keep the lights on, the turbines turning and the nations moving forward.

He added that this training is a four-year training where they will rotate across their centre, learn from the experience tradespeople and complete block course at the training college.

Bayly urged commitment from the trainees noting the work they do affects every household, business, school, hospital and community in the country.
