TWO HIGH PROFILE CASES TO BE HEARD THIS WEEK

BY BENJAMIN KOITAKA

TWO of the most significant and important Cases will be heard at the Waigani’s Committal Court this week, to determine the fate of the cases itself and the alleged persons of interest involved.

These cases include the Matter in Relation to the acting Road Traffic Authority Chief Executive Officer John Avira and Court ousted Kandep MP Don Polye on the Misappropriations charges.

Waigani Committal Court senior Magistrate Paul Puri Nii moved the respective matter to this June, and the hearings will proceed this Thursday (11th of June 2026) in Port Moresby.

Waigani Committal Court will make a ruling this week to see whether the cases have enough evidence to be trialled at the National Court.
