PNG DataCo has announced a K35,000 sponsorship for Ms. Yasmine Tabogani to represent the company in the 2024 Miss Bird of Paradise Pageant. CEO Paul Komboi, following the announcement told FM100 News highlighted the significance of the sponsorship, noting its alignment with the pageant’s focus on advocating for women, children with disabilities, and youth empowerment.
“This initiative prepares young graduates like Yasmine for leadership roles and reflects our values as a company,” he said.
Komboi praised women’s contributions to DataCo, emphasizing their high productivity and loyalty. “Supporting events like this is about doing the right thing, not just for DataCo, but for the nation,” he added.
Ms Tabogani stated she has always aspired to one day do something great for the country, and through this, she believes that she can be able lead as a beacon for young women and girls to always strive to be the best in their everyday lives.
“I have always wanted to help my country🇵 in a meaningful way, and this pageant along with the support of my sponsors has given me the opportunity to do just that.
“I believe that the foundation of a brighter future begins with how we think. In our country, many children and young people grow up without the belief that they can be somebody that they can achieve great things.”
Taking to social media, Tabogani, of mixed parentage of Milne Bay, East Sepik & Manus said she was truly grateful for Dataco’s support not only towards herself as an employee but towards the Miss Bird of Paradise Pageant platform that is committed to empowering and developing young female leaders and also being a voice to persons with disabilities.
