COMMUNITY IN ENGA CONTRIBUTES TO ASSIST TERTIARY STUDENTS

The Aipinimanda community in the Wabag Rural LLG of Enga Province came together for the first time to contribute money that will assist tertiary students from the community make their way to their respective higher education institutions.

Clan members gathered over the weekend to chip in their individual contributions reaching an impressive K3,000 in total.

Aipinimanda Ward 41 Councilor Johnson Kondaikali sincerely acknowledged the generosity shown by the community members in valuing the human resource development of the community and meaningfully contributing to the integral human development of the community as a whole.

Cr.Kondaikali initiated this first ever community contribution program with the support of the Aipinimanda Students Association Incorporated (ASAI).

ASAI spokesman Harty Kipan who is currently the Enga Students Association President at the University of Goroka, indicated that the community contributions program will continue in the years to come.

He says more than a dozen students from the Aipinimanda community will be attending tertiary institutions throughout the country and the community contributions received will be equally divided amongst the students to assist them in their travels to their respective institutions.
