SOLOMON ISLANDS PRIME MINISTER ARRIVES IN PORT MORESBY FOR A DAY VISIT

THE Solomon Islands Prime Minister Mathew Cooper Wale and his delegation arrived in Port Moresby this morning for a 1-day visit.
The delegations arrival was received by the Deputy Prime Minister John Rosso, NCD Governor Powes Parkop, Foreign Affairs Minister Justin Tkachenko, Chief Secretary to Government Ivan Pomaleu, senior government leaders and officers.
Also present Police Commission David Manning and the Chief of Defence Rear Admiral Comodore Philip Polewara.
Solomon Islands Prime Minister was accorded a Ceremonial Guard of Honor and 19 Gun Salute at the APEC Terminal Jackson’s International Airport.
Prime Minister Wale is now headed to pay a courtesy call on the Governor General His Excellency Sir Bob Dadae at the State Hall, Government House.
He will also visit the host Prime Minister’s office at Melanesian Haus for a one on one Bilateral meeting and the signing of Framework Agreement between the two nations on Economic and Development Cooperation.
During the course of his visit, he will also meet with the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for Minersls Holdings Ltd Mr Sarima Kanu and the Mineral Resources Authrity Chairman Mr John Tuan at Air ways Hotel before he departs forthe Solomon Islands at 4 o’clock this afternoon.
