CGC PROVIDES FINANCIAL ACCESS TO SUPPORT TOURISM SECTOR

CREDIT Guarantee Corporation (CGC) as part of the panel on Business Development and Access to Finance, emphasised on their critical role in providing access to finance to support and bolster the tourism sector.

CGC Chief Executive Officer Mr Sikakau emphasised that there is opportunity for CGC to work together with the Tourism Promotion Authority (TPA) to provide access to finance for the tourism sector adding CGC have funded about K7million worth of loans for SMEs in other sectors so there is opportunity to expand this to the tourism sector.

Mr Sikakau said with currently 13 partner financial institutions CGC provide a wide range of financial institutions to partner with to assist the tourism sector.”

Mr Sikakau was speaking during Inaugural National Tourism Conference held at the Hilton Hotel on Wednesday 09th April.

He also highlighted the opportunities for TPA and CGC to collaborate to support tourism related businesses, with its unique challenges and the need to design tailor made products to address these challenges as well the need for training and capacity building.
