RUGBY Sevens fans in the capital a treated to a festivity of entertainment this easter weekend as the capital again play host to the 9th edition of the Niupower KMHL Sports Tok 7s Tournament.


The Tournament was launched on Friday at the Santos National Football Stadium, with officials, team captains and Platinum Sponsors, Niupower, Kumul Minerals Holdings Limited and Coral Seas Hotels and Restaurants.


56 teams across Male, Open Women and Under 20’s will battle it out for bragging rights this weekend. Aside from this, the 2026 tourney sees the Devo Baba’s, last years Champions return to defend their title.


The Women’s division also sees the Fijian 7s side, Tagimoucia Ranadi return for their second tournament.


Founder of the Sports Tok 7s, Benson Upas stated that they were proud to have come this far with the tournament and that hosting the 9th edition is a testament to the commitment they have to growing Grassroots Rugby.


Chief Executive Officer of Niupower, the Platinum Sponsor, Michael Uiari stated that Niupower was once again proud to have come onboard and are committed to ensuring that Rugby continues to the growth, especially at the grassroots.


He stated that Rugby, unlike other Sports is more of a communal of family sport and this has been showcased in previous tournaments and would like to encourage families to come out and support.
