A Fijian women’s rugby club competing in the Niupower KMHL Sports Tok 7s has praised Papua New Guinea’s sporting facilities, describing them as superior to those available in Fiji.

Founder and manager of the Tagimoucia Ranadi Rugby Club, Anna Rabuka, said the team had been impressed by the quality of facilities during their return visit to Papua New Guinea for the tournament.

Rabuka said the players were particularly struck by the venue hosting the competition, the National Football Stadium in Port Moresby.

Rabuka noted that from what the team had experienced so far, Papua New Guinea’s sports infrastructure compares favourably with that of Fiji.

The Tagimoucia Ranadi Rugby Club returned to Papua New Guinea this year with a full squad after previously participating in the tournament last year with a reduced team.

Rabuka said the players were excited to once again compete in Papua New Guinea and experience the local rugby environment.
