CLOSE CAMP IN ALL PNG MILITARY ESTABLISHMENTS

 PAPUA New Guinea Defence Force has issued a nationwide Close Camp directive for one month as part of heightened security measures during the ongoing recruitment process in the PNG Defence Force.


In a directive issued, Chief of Defence Force Rear Admiral Philip Polewara has ordered all units and military establishments nationwide to enforce strict movement controls in all military base for one month.


The order restricts entry of civilians into barracks, limits movement of personnel and bans unnecessary vehicle use without written approval.


It also strengthens security around armouries and prohibits the issuance of weapons and ammunition during the period.


All commanders have been directed to ensure full compliance of the directive or any breach to that will treated as a serious disciplinary offence.
