FUEL PRICE DOWN; NO ILLEGAL FARE INCREASE: POLICE WARNS

THE Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary has issued a strong warning to public transport operators, directing them not to impose unauthorized fare increases.
Police say all approved transport fares must remain unchanged, as fuel prices have now returned to normal.
Fuel price has decrease for Petrol, from K6.10 per liter to K4.39, diesel from K7:69 per liter to K4.44 and Kerosene has dropped from K7.00 to K4.09 per liter.
The warning follows reports that some bus operators are unlawfully collecting additional fees from the public.
Police have described the practice as illegal and warned that it will not be tolerated.
Bus and taxi owners have been instructed to inform their drivers and crews to ensure full compliance.
Meanwhile, the public is urged to report any incidents of overcharging or misconduct to the relevant authorities.
