SP Lager has officially launched its Anti-Violence Round ahead of the PNG Hunters match this Saturday in Port Moresby at the National Football Stadium yesterday.

Speaking at the press conference SP Brewery Senior Brand Manager Kitione Amet said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to using its platform to address domestic and family violence across Papua New Guinea.

The campaign carries two key messages encouraging communities to JOIN THE GENERATION OF CHANGE and reinforcing that there are NO EXCUSES FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

Amet says rugby league remains one of the most powerful platforms in the country to unite people and drive important national conversations.

As part of the SP PNG Hunters round 5 game the Hunters will wear a special jersey displaying the campaign messages “JOIN THE GENERATION OF CHANGE” AND “THERE ARE NO EXCUSES FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE” turning the game into a visible platform for awareness.

The message is expected to reach thousands of fans at the stadium and many more watching across the country.

Amet says players and coaches also play an important role as role models helping to influence positive behaviour especially to young people.

He adds that real change starts within homes and communities with everyone encouraged to take responsibility.

He stressed that this is not a one-off initiative, but part of an ongoing commitment by SP Lager and SP Brewery to continue using their voice, partnerships and platforms to keep the anti-violence message visible nationwide.

The public is being encouraged to support the team and help spread the message of respect, safer homes and stronger communities.
