LDC AND SILAG SIGN MOU TO UPSKILL LDC STAFF

THE Livestock Development Corporation is now looking at empowering its staff through training initiatives, with the signing of an agreement with the Somare Institute of Leadership and Governance today.

Acting Managing Director Steven Yanguis and SILAG Chief Executive Officer Michael Barobe signed the Memorandum of Understanding at the YFIG Building, Kennedy Estate, Port Moresby, witnessed by both organisations staff.


This partnership gives LDC officers access to SILAG’s training in leadership, finance, human resource management, and public administration.


LDC Acting MD Steven Yangis said the agreement is a milestone for LDC as it will help their staff improve skills as the organisation grows noting that the partnership will run for 5 years.


He added that it will also support LDC managers upskill in reporting, managing industry assets, manage manpower and industry’s capitals and financial management of the organisation.


SILAG CEO Michael Barobe acknowledges the LDC for recognising the importance that the institution gives to the public service stating that they teach human resource management, finance, and leadership.


He highlighted that this partnership ensures that the organisation have a capacity, and competency, to deliver the plans for their organisational growth.
