LIVUAN day clinic serving 13 remote wards in the Livuan LLG of Gazelle District have received a timely boost to its operations through donation of water tanks and solar lights from Bank South Pacific branch in the province.

The donation includes two 500-litre water tanks and four 500-watt solar lights that will now ease the challenges and years of struggle experienced over the years.

The Livuan Day Clinic, has faced an ongoing challenge accessing water, with rainfall being its only source and solar lighting has been the source of light due to unreliable electricity supply, for both daily operations and securit.

BSP under its annual Corporate Social Responsibility initiative has stepped in with the donation.

BSP’s NGI Regional Manager, Kalat Tiriman, and Rabaul Branch Manager, David Pilai, made the presentation to clinic staff and the community.

Mr Pilai said BSP is committed to its customers and the communities it operates in, adding that the project shows the bank ensures its stakeholders are looked after.

He also appealed to the clinic and the community to protect the new facilities so they can benefit others in the years to come.

Representing the East New Britain Provincial Health Authority, Health Promotion and Preventative Manager Xavier Hombhanje described the moment as meaningful. He thanked BSP for being a caring partner in community development, saying the bank has demonstrated real commitment to supporting health, improving lives, and empowering the community.
