AITON TO BLEED DEBUTANT WORINU

BY BENJAMIN KOITAKA
After two consecutive weekends of rest, the PNG Hunters are back on the paddock, doing what they do best as they prepare for their Round 12 clash against the Tweed Heads Seagulls this Saturday at the Preston Building Sports Complex in Piggabeen.
Head coach Paul Aiton has made minimal changes to both the backline and forward pack, with Hela Wigmen product McWin Worinu set to make his Queensland Cup debut, while Henry Limbi has been recalled to strengthen the forward rotation.
Aiton said the SP Brewery-sponsored franchise is still without 10 players who are recovering from various injuries but expressed confidence in the squad selected for this weekend’s match.
He commended Worinu for his perseverance and commitment throughout his rehabilitation, after suffering an injury during pre-season training earlier this year.
The former PNG Kumuls star also confirmed that Limbi will start on the edge, with Murray Connors shifting to the interchange bench.
Aiton described Limbi as a quality middle forward and also praised development player Christopher Cullighan, who has been named as the 18th man.
The clash between the Hunters and the Seagulls, with both sides currently outside the top eight, will kick off at 2pm on Saturday.
Fans can tune in to FM100 Papua New Guinea for live coverage and commentary of the match on Saturday afternoon.
