PNG CHIEFS’ EYES YOUNG HOME BORN TALENTS

PNG Chiefs General Manager Football Michael Chamas has hinted engaging young talented PNG players in the team.
Chamas says, everything is positive at the moment with the recent signing of Connor Watson 003 and Matt Lee’s 004 this week.
Chamas told PNG Media team in Sydney that they are in the process of engaging young talented PNG players and the momentum back home in PNG, people are positive about what Chiefs will do for the young players coming through and also for the country.
He says Chiefs will bring a lot of opportunities to the country through the partnership with PNG government, the Australian government and NRL, and such opportunities are not only in the game of rugby but also from a job perspective as well.
Chamas says, with development pathways systems and establishment of academies, he commended Joe Grimma and Tony Archer for driving this initiative, saying Chiefs are fortunate and will reap the benefits in the next 3 years, when best players will be picked from these academies to join the Chiefs pathway system.
