A Committal Court ruling set to go ahead today (Thursday,  11th of June) at the Waigani Committal Court has faced another delay, with the matter now being set to be heard next week.

The matter in relation to implicated former Kandep MP Don Pomb Polye, facing the charges of official Corruption, Conspire to defeat Justice and Attempt to pervert justice will appear before senior magistrate Paul Purii Nii for final ruling.

If Court found sufficient and enough evidence, the matter will be committed to the National Court for further trial.

Meanwhile, Acting Road Traffic Authority Chief Executive Officer John Avira’s case was heard by Magistrate Nii and a further decision will be made on the 22nd of June 2026.

Magistrate Nii said the three charges in relation to official Corruption and defraud remain and whether Avira will be committed to stand trial at the National Court will be determined later on the fixed date.
