BY MARTINA TAKANANENG

THE Pangu Party opened its 28th National Convention today at the Hilton Hotel, Port Moresby, with leaders set to review policy and strengthen party structures.

The two-day convention runs from today to Friday 12th June, bringing together Party executives, Members of Parliament, all 21 provincial councils, plus Bougainville, Motu Koita representatives, and key national stakeholders.

Prime Minister James Marape said throughout this conference ministers will report on what they have delivered over the past seven years in economy, education, health, and infrastructure.

He stressed that Pangu must outlast any single leader noting that the party must be bigger, must live on and produce the next generation of leaders.

Prime Minister said the convention will review policies, assess completed and outstanding tasks, and determine future actions stating that any new policies from party sections will be processed at this meeting.

PM Marape acknowledges the past leaders who started this party ensuring that all parity’s policies remain consistent with Pangu’s values.

This is the first major national gathering for the party since the 2022 National General Election. Outcomes from the convention will guide Pangu’s political and development agenda moving forward.
