THE Kipo Road clearance and groundbreaking exercise in Moresby South (Port Moresby) facilitates the construction of the new Kipo-Saraga road link has commenced starting on Monday.

Last month NCDC had announced that affected residents will be assisted with relocation packages, land titles at the Ragamuga (6-Mile) area along with financial compensation.

The NCDC clearance exercise is underway and into its third day, a dozen houses have been demolished and an estimated between 16-20 families have been displaced for the moment.

What has been established is that families who spoke to FM100 stated that they were given time to move but were never given an exact time as to when until Monday.

For now families in the surrounding community have made space available for the displaced to reside before they can get back on their feet or be relocated properly.
