DATEC PNG OPENS LAE RETAIL OUTLET

DATEC PNG Ltd in celebrating innovation, technology, and progress has opened its new retail showroom in Lae, marking another milestone in strengthening digital connectivity, innovation and growth in Morobe province.
The new retail showroom located at Gobe Haus is more than a retail outlet—it’s a technology hub designed to empower businesses, schools, and communities with modern ICT solutions, training, and support.
The new showroom was officially opened by the Minister For State Owned Enterprise William Duma, who said the event is a reflection of strong leadership and governance and commended Datec CEO Preetam Talukdar and his team.
Datec has been operating in the country for over 40 years and is recognised as the leading ICT solutions and service provider, this new establishment is a major step forward in Datec PNG’s Vision 2030.
Also in attendance to witness the event, Telikom Group Chairman Cedrick Rondoke, Telikom CEO Mr Amos Tepi, Datec Chairman Moses Maladina, other heads of Telikom Subsidiaries.
Meantime, Morobe Governor Hon. Rainbo Paita in welcoming the opening in Morobe Province said, the investment aligns with the provincial government’s Move Morobe Up agenda, which focuses on promoting strategic partnerships, attracting investment and driving digital transformation across the province.
Governor Paita who was represented by Deputy Administrator (Economics) Robin Kiki and Executive Officer to the Deputy Governor Sam Tanio, said the new establishment reinforces Morobe’s position as Papua New Guinea’s commercial gateway, highlighting the growing importance of technology in building a more connected, innovative and prosperous future for the country.
