PM MARAPE TO OPEN UPGRADED K76 MILLION GURNEY AIRPORT TERMINAL TOMORROW

PRIME Minister James Marape is expected to officially open the newly upgraded K76 million Gurney Airport terminal building in Milne Bay Province tomorrow.
The facility has been modernized under the Civil Aviation Development Investment Project II (CADIP II), a major infrastructure partnership between the National Government and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The upgraded Alotau hub features a newly laid 20-year asphalt runway, night-flight lighting capability, and an expanded 100-passenger terminal designed to significantly boost regional transit.
Prime Minister Marape will deliver the keynote address, followed by an official plaque unveiling, the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a guided tour of the facility.
The state-of-the-art terminal replacing decades of aging infrastructure and establishes Milne Bay as a modernized aviation hub aimed to drive economic growth across Papua New Guinea.
