WARD members, commissioners and Local Level Government (LLG) leaders from Aitape Urban and Aitape Central LLGs in West Sepik Province have completed the third day of an induction workshop focused on strengthening leadership capacity, governance and service delivery.
The three-day programme is aimed at equipping ward members and commissioners with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively perform their duties and improve the administration and operations of their respective LLGs.
The sessions were conducted by programme facilitators Mr Bid Pamaraka and Mr Simon M’Ledu, alongside West Sepik Provincial Administration Director for LLG and Village Courts, Mr Anslem Mani.
Participants were taken through key areas including LLG development planning, the importance of the Village Book, and the responsibilities of LLG managers, Executive Officers (EOs) and Ward Development Officers (WDOs).
The sessions also focused on strengthening LLG operational planning and improving work outputs at the district level.
The third day concluded with a mock presentation on LLG Standing Orders, with participants from both Aitape Urban and Aitape Central LLGs taking part.
The induction workshop is scheduled to officially conclude tomorrow with a closing ceremony and the presentation of certificates to participants.
