FROM NEW YORK TO PORT MORESBY: JEFFRY FEEGER’S HOMECOMING EXHIBITION

INTERNATIONALLY recognized Papua New Guinean artist Jeffry Feeger is set to unveil his debut solo exhibition on home soil, Sovereign Vibe, at the Sheraton Port Moresby from 27 October to 2 November 2026.
The week-long exhibition marks a significant milestone in Feeger’s career, bringing together decades of artistic exploration and cultural storytelling in what is describe as his first comprehensive solo presentation in Papua New Guinea.
The collection features 48 original works, including 36 canvases painted live before audiences during a residency at the Sheraton Port Moresby between March and August this year. Each painting was started and completed in a single evening, allowing audiences to witness the creative process from beginning to end.
After exhibiting internationally in locations such as Shanghai, Auckland, and New York’s SoHo district, Feeger said “the exhibition represents a deeply personal homecoming and a celebration of Papua New Guinea’s people, stories and evolving identity”.
A highlight of the exhibition will be the opening night cocktail and auction event on 27 October, where guests will enjoy live music, view the collection and meet the artist. Following the opening, the exhibition will remain free for public viewing until its conclusion on 2 November.
According to the exhibition’s curatorial note, Sovereign Vibe combines the precision of portraiture with the energy of urban documentation, creating powerful visual narratives that reflect the cultural diversity and contemporary spirit of Papua New Guinea.
The exhibition will close with a final live performance and the unveiling of the audience canvas, coinciding with the Sheraton Port Moresby’s grand opening celebrations.
Speaking about the exhibition on the Nasfund FM100 Talkback show today, Mr Feeger said, the collection is more than an art showcase; it is a celebration of creativity, community and the power of storytelling through paint and performance.
