UNDI’S FAITH AND GENEROSITY WIN HEARTS IN KAGUA

Despite personal challenges following an aircraft crash that claimed the life of her pilot, Mama Helpim Mama Association director and Niugini Aviation principal owner Ruth Siwinu Undi remains committed to supporting communities in need.

Ms Undi made the commitment during a visit to Murane in Kagua District, Southern Highlands Province, where she pledged K15,000 towards the construction of a new church.

She said she was moved by the difficult conditions under which villagers currently worship, including makeshift church buildings with kunai grass roofing and grass-covered floors.

Ms Undi said her decision to contribute was driven by a desire to improve the congregation’s worship environment and support communities facing hardship.

Her visit coincided with a special baptism ceremony that brought together nine United Church congregations from different local-level government areas of Kagua-Erave. A total of 16 people were baptised during the ceremony.

Circuit Chairman Robert Auwe welcomed Ms Undi and thanked her for her presence and financial contribution, describing her visit as a blessing to the congregations and the wider community.

Mr Auwe said assistance from individuals willing to support struggling communities was greatly appreciated.

He also described the heavy rainfall experienced after a prolonged dry spell as a blessing.

Mr Auwe assured Ms Undi that the nine congregations would continue to uphold her in prayer and fellowship as she navigated her personal challenges and pursued her aspirations.

In response, Ms Undi drew inspiration from the biblical story of Job, whose faith remained steadfast despite suffering and adversity.

She said the aircraft accident and the loss of her pilot had tested her faith but had not weakened her belief in God.

“Even though I was suppressed by heavy blows after my plane crashed and my pilot lost his life, there is a reason for everything. Everything happens for a reason,” she said.

Ms Undi reaffirmed her commitment to trusting God and accepting His plans for her life.

The ceremony also featured traditional singsing performances, fellowship and the slaughtering of pigs to provide food for those in attendance.

The nine congregations expressed their appreciation for Ms Undi’s generosity, offering prayers and pledging their continued support for her future aspirations.
