PNG Power Limited (PPL) has taken a major step forward in enhancing its technical workforce with the certification of 15 engineers who have undergone world-class training, thanks to the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Government of Japan.
Acting CEO of PPL Nehemiah Naris emphasized the significance of this achievement adding that these 15 trainers are now equipped with the skills and expertise necessary to manage the country’s power grids to a world-class standard.
Naris stated that they are key assets in PPL’s efforts to improve the reliability and sustainability of the energy infrastructure.
The training program is part of a larger initiative to strengthen human resource capacity within PPL, ensuring that the organization has the technical expertise required to manage and maintain the country’s three main power grids Ramu, Gazelle, and standalone services.
These newly certified trainers are expected to play a critical role in PPL’s future, helping to enhance the country’s power sector by sharing their knowledge and skills with their peers.
