HIGHLANDS COMMUNITY ATTACKS KASELOK VILLAGE IN RETALIATION

About ten families in Kaselok village in New Ireland province, watched their housed and properties burnt in engulfing flames following a retaliation confrontation by the Highlands Community in Kavieng last week.
The retaliation eventuated following the murder of a Highlander on Wednesday night at Kaselok village.
Houses went up in flames while others were looted off their properties leaving innocent lives at stake, and about 10 innocent families currently homeless and are left in despair for days after the attack.
Speaking on behalf of the families, Kaselok Village Court Magistrate Hudson Olol nowcalled on the government, neighbouring communities, fellow New Irelanders, MSME operators to donate clothes, utensils and basic items to sustain the victims.
Meanwhile K1500 was donated in cash by PA Richard Andia and Kavieng Town Mayor to the victims.
The Kaselok Community gave a value of almost K2000 including, pig, and garden food to open up dialogue for peace to prevail.
