“For Rigo Rice, we want to make a difference,” Mr. Kennedy said.

“The winner at the end of the competition to walk away with K200 000 cash prize.

“This is to empower our youths and communities, where we operate and so long a Rig Rice is here, we will continue to support the competition.”

Mr. Kennedy urged the citizens to buy local products in order to encourage local producers to keep pushing and doing what they do best.

“When you go to the shops and buy local PNG made, your money stays here.

“And that money, we can take it back to support you in better ways that we can,” he said.

Mr Kennedy further added that the competition organising committees set reasonable registration fees of K2500 in order to allow more teams and youths participating in this one-off competition.

Competition boss McSteve Polly confirmed that the games will start this Friday at the various designated venues in the National Capital District.

Mr Polly said registrations are open and interested teams, both in the Nation Capital District and Central can come forward to register their teams.

The draws and other necessary information will be released later, once the registration is closed.
