WABAG MAN ARRESTED FOR GOLD SCAM IN MANUS

POLICE in Manus have arrested a man posing as a gold seller in Lorengau, Manus Province.

The suspect, identified as Moses Moscow, 38-year-old from Wabag, Enga Province was arrested by Police yesterday (Thursday 181225).

The arrest comes after police in Manus received a tip that Moscow was involved in a gold scam. Police issued an urgent warning labeling him a person of interest.

According to initial police reports, the 38-year-old was offering gold at attractive prices to collect payments from people in Lorengau.

When the matter was reported to police by unsuspecting victims, Moscow went into hiding and escaped the first attempt by police to arrest him.

However, with the help of the general public in Manus, police identified him and arrested him on Thursday 18th December 2025.

He is now in Police custody, awaiting due processes.
