TRUKAI FUN RUN TO SUPPORT PNG ATHLETES

THE 2026 Trukai Fun Run officially unveiled the 2026 Fun Run t’shirt this week at the Hilton Hotel in Port Moresby.
Each shirt cost K15 and every purchase directly contributes to help Team PNG’s participation in major international competitions.
Elaine Iorive, PNG Olympic Committee Treasurer and Team PNG Chef De Mission to Glasgow 2026, highlighted the crucial role the shirts play in supporting athletes.
Every shirt purchased directly contributes to helping Team PNG prepare for major international competitions which is the Pacific Games, Commonwealth Games, and the Olympic Games.
Lorive emphasized that the Fun Run is more than just a community event.This year’s theme , Together in Every Grain reflects the spirit of partnership between Trukai, Team PNG and the people of Papua New Guinea.
She said just as every grain contributes to a meal, every shirt purchased and every step taken on Fun Run day supports our athletes and their dreams.
She encouraged schools, businesses and communities across Port Moresby, Lae and nationwide to participate, noting that the Fun Run is not only a fundraising initiative but also a celebration of sport, national pride and healthy lifestyles.
Lorive added that together through the Trukai Fun Run, we contribute to the success of our athletes and show the strength of our community.
The 2026 Trukai Fun Run will take place on Sunday, 14 June, and residents are urged to grab their K15 shirts and join the run to support Team PNG as they prepare to represent the nation on the international stage.
